Ok Im trying to get my car running and came across a little problem. As most of you know I put in a 357w into my 88 GT. I no longer have a EGR, Smog pump, or any other smog devices. For those of you that have or now about this I have a question for you! If I leave the sensor that goes to the charcol cannister off will it through a code and make my check engine light come on and/or cause any tuning issues when I get to the dyno with the PMS system? Second question is witht the egr sensor, what do I need to do if I am not going to have one anymore and will it cause any problems when tuning with the PMS? Lastly, can the PMS system bypass the sensors and make the check engine light turn off if need be? Any help would be great, once I get this resolved and a new fuel rail comes, she will be ALIVE! jeffas far as i know you just need to get a few resistors and the problem is solved for both codes from the egr and charcol canister. Not sure what the exact resistance is on each but im sure you can do some research on corral and come up with that one.

I set a fellow board member's car up (boosted89saleen) with NO smog equipment and didn't have any problems with a "check engine" light illuminating. I did run the EGR valve though. Like Mike stated, you need to find out the voltage for the EGR (what the EEC looks for), slave in a resistor, and you'll be good to go. The PMS could care less about the smog equipment. As for the rest of the equipment, zip-tie all the connectors together and hide them in the inner fenderwell. [Smile]
