In my 89 Bronco II the radio just took a crap. Stock deck was playing fine, and then my brother said it just faded to nothing. Now no sound comes out on any of the stations with reception, but I do hear a little static on channels that normally get crappy reception. Did the deck just take a crap for good or could it be something else?

I checked all the fuses and they are fine. What else should I look for?

does the unit light up?
the connection for the antenna could be loose or dirty, check that out too dude!
It could be also that the deck internally failed as well.
hope this helps! [patriot]

It does light up....I can change the channel and such. I'll check the antenna I guess, but I'm thinking right now it is an internal failure.

Is it the premium stereo like the Mustang units? If so there may be an amp behind the deck that took a dump. Or, find an old unit that someone pulled out to upgrade. You should be able to find one cheap.
