I've gone as low as 9 PSI no tubes on a 8.5" rim [Embarrassed] [Embarrassed] (fuck mph [Razz] )

I have run mine as low as 9.5psi, but prefer to run at least 11psi to minimize the sway down track.
The day I killed my Eaton I had them set @ 10psi. The track was hookin' that day !!!!

I ran 9psi once and it wasn't good. The car was sideways 3/4 down the track and i finaly got it atraight at the end. [Big Grin] Definately the scariest thing ever. I usually ran 11-12psi.

I once launched my car with 4 psi in the driverside tire [Eek!]

Driving back form the previous race I punctured the tire and it was dark, so I had no idea it was that low until I dumped the clutch and put the hammer down. Lets just say I'm happy as hell the guy I was racing red lit, cause I, as you could probably imagaine, had to get out of it. [Wink]

Kinda funny, I ended up winning that night. With a borrowed air tank from a motorcycle racer [Whoo Whooooo!]

Oh, I like to run 12.5 PSI in my 26X11.5 ET streets [patriot]

You didn't say how it hooked. Also, how do you do your burnout? I used to do the long, go through each gear and ride it out burnout, but found that wasn't the best thing. Burn through first, shift to second and hold it at about 4500 rpm for 3 seconds. Put the car in neutral and rev it a couple times to clean it out. Then you're ready to go.

As far as pressure, you want as much as you can without giving up traction. In other words, if you can hook at 12 don't drop to 10. Good luck!
