Not sure about a bigger TB and bigger Mass. I do know that the MAF is different, 6 wire I belive.
Trix02gt, I got gains at the track going from a 65mm to a 70mm on a NA car. Also I've seen gains on the dyno going from my 70mm to the accufab oval TB.

My girlfriend is buying a real nice 01 off of a friend of mine and I was wondering if the mass air is a direct swap?

its not a direct swap with an 02+ I don't think you can even do it. Like I said the wiring harness is different for the mafs on the 02+. You don't need a new maf anyways The 01 can haul ass with a stock one.

The 02-03 MAF is 80MM stock, the 01 (I think) is 75. The stock TB on all of em is 65MM. The upper intake is only 70MM on the inlet side so anything bigger than 70 is just plain silly unless you are a porting fool.
You can use the 02+ MAF housing (and I'll sell you mine) if you transfer the electronics from the stocker. That's hella easy. I'll even toss in the special allen wrench you need.
Go to www.aossguns.com/stangshots.htm if you want more detail. It's my page. Feel free to send me reviews of other parts and I'll publish them there.
