Greetings. Im having this guy install a chassis works 8pt roll bar in my 88 hatch, and were not sure which would be the prefered mounting location for the back bars. I was thinking next to the area were the shock towers are and weld a bar across tieng them together, he thought better all the way back and to the frame. Your thoughts, and or pics would be helpfull. i have a buddy that does custom cages and i bet he would advice to go all the way back to the frame for better safety and rigidity...Just my 2 cents ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

the two extra points are smaller diameter bars that angle inword. they will go to the upper torque box area and weld to base plates. cant be more than 10 or 15 lbs. tops. hey at least my 4 lug spare is history ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

i have a dual frame rail chromoly tube chassis mustang and you dont :)
i do chassis work anything for subframe con's to full chassis cars

on your foxbody you have a sheet metal box frame youd want to put you plate right over the top of it..you could weld in the strut brace then add some 1 1/4" tube from the rear cage bars to the strut tower bar that way youd still be legal for nhra events.and youd sill get that extra structure you were lookin for
