hey i want to unbolt my x-pipe to try to figure out a problem but i have shorty headers and the o2 sensors plug into the x-pipe. Would i still be able to stert the car without the o2 sensors or would it mess stuff up?

You'll be fine. Your idle won't be as smooth and your fuel economy will be poor, but that's about it.
