Hey guys. Well, here's the story. I was driving to work, and when I exited 101, I heard this loud clicking sound coming from the engine bay. At first, I just thought it was an exhaust leak that had just opened up more, so when I pulled into the parking lot, I checked it out. Well....It was MUCH louder than an exhaust leak, and was more of a clacking sound than a puffing. It was coming from the left bank. I decided to drive the car home and get another car, and the power was WAY down. On the way home, it started to make this popping sound coming from the opposite side of the motor. I'm sorta confused as to why it is on the other side. My buddy thinks that something just might have come loose, and I'm supposed to take it into his shop for him to give it a listen. The problem is, I don't want to drive it anymore because I'm afraid something else will get messed up.
Anyone have any ideas other than bent valve, that might put my nerves to rest. I don't have the money to fix it, so I might end up having to sell it to pay bills.
I used the same length pushrods that TFS suggested, assuming there would be enough clearance, so I don't know. And when this happened, I WASN'T driving it hard. Just normal driving.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I had the same problem.. It was a loose rocker.. Hope you didnt get on it cause it could lead to a bent valve..Pull the covers off yourself and ckeck..Most likley it is a loose rocker.. Tighten the all back up and put eveything abck together.. Do a compression test just to make sure you didnt bent the valve or craked a piston..Good luck.

My buddy says it sounds like a broken rocker arm. This poses a problem because apparently, TFS doesn't sell individual rocker arms....
Does anyone have any ideas?
