I have been considering wrappng my headers and cats and some exhaaust piping as it is getting pretty hot.
I've notice catalogs say the wrap voids header warranties. is this because the headers break down from too much heat.

How about the cats

The car is a viper and the heat is pretty uncomfortable as the cats and exhaust run right along side of me. The side sills reach 270 degrees on the body.

thanks for any help

Well what i found out from a fellow who races stock cars is that header wrap can actually crack the headers. I guess it creates little hot pockets instead of everything getting hot and cracks when up agains the colder section of the header. My suggestion would be just go get ur headers jet coated
