Just got done colletcing all my parts for the top end, and about to assemble in a week or so. What does everyone think ill be putting to the ground? My goal is 500rwhp, if i dont produce enough PSI with the pulley i might have to get a powerpipe or get a smaller pulley. here is the link to my mods, tell me what to expect so i can get all excited

Basicly, you can never go wrong with TEA ported TW's, an Anderson B4 cam and some gear driven centrifical boost 500 rwhp? I can't count the number of 10 second cars with the combo you listed above. AFM cam + TW heads + blower is one of the most common 10 second 5.O combos around.
I see you have 300+ cfm flowing in on the heads, but an edelbrok performer RPM upper than flows 235ish cfm? That's a mismatch right there.

i knew the upper intake would be the bottleneck, but the budget was hit and i really dont want to go over what i planned to spend, ya know. [ February 21, 2003, 04:36 PM: Message edited by: stanger91 ]

I thought the Holley intake would have been a better fit for this, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that was the best intake around especially for blowers.

You're right. Either a Holley or maybe even a TFS-R intake cleaned up... but either way, he's looking risking a cracked block if the car makes the power it is suppose to Lets hope the fuel system is top notch like the top half of the motor

I honestly think Mexican blocks are over rated and hype. I'm not alone on this thought. I have seen no conclusive proof that they support more HP. I've seen regular 5.O blocks make just as much power as mexican blocks, if not more. To me mexican block vs stock 5.O roller block is effectively a coke vs pepsi debate. Just my two cents, take it for what its worth.

by looking at my mexican block i could see where the caps are thicker, slightly thicker pan rail and webs between cylinders. Look slike i have a Coke can, cause Coke is better
As you can see:

I'd expect your "tuner" to say..."looks like you need a better fuel system buddy"
Actually it will probably do fine on the dyno so i'm gonna predict 2 melted pistons at the 1100' mark first trip to the track.
As others have stated i'd suggest trying to trade the RPM and a little cash for a Holley but either way 550+ should be a problem with the 3.25" Novi pulley. You're gonna need better than 91 octane though. [ February 24, 2003, 11:48 PM: Message edited by: Jeff S ]

Well if you talked to him on AIM, then you would know he doesnt like Byrons Tunes. What he IS SAYING IS, Byrons Tuning doenst consist of taking the car off the Dyno. The Dyno only accounts for so much weight, my car is heavier, so my A/F ratio will be OK on the dyno. But on the street, it wont be...becaose of Byrons Tune.
