hey my steering is real floaty. its fine when im driving under 45mph but above thea it gets worse on the freeway its real bad. i cant even imagine racing it like this. as i go faster it seems to get real loose and and even the slightest movement to the wheel will send the car drifting all over. it has power steering and a 15-1 quick ratio rack thats fairly new possibly a bad rack?

first lift up ur front end and check for any looseness in ur front end by wiggling each tire side to side or up and down , that checks ur rack, tie rods tie rod ends, and bearings. second test put the car back on the ground with the car off , start moving the steering wheel to check for any excesive clearance in ur gearbox or rack . GOOD LUCK

i replaced my rack about a year ago with a quick ratio rack from napa. same amount of turns lock to lock as the origonal, but the new one steers WAY too soft. after researching i came to the conscensis that not all racks are gonna perform the same after a rebuild and theres really no way of telling weather you are getting a good one or not.this might be the case for you as well, good luck.
