cranks over fine, can hear the fuel pump screamin in the back .pulled a few plug wires out with the ignition on, useing a remote starter ,puting the wires against a ground...no spark at all.
then i tried the coil out alone on a ground and still no spark?..
[Confused]
coil??? thats what i'm thinking...
i need a second opinion..
it started right up a few days ago but i have parked it due to lower intake leaks i need to fix a.s.a.p...i was gonna move the car in my driveway to work on that today..maybe i still can if could have a lil'help getting it started..
i have a step driveway..it'll take 4 people to push my heavy foxbody up the driveway... [Roll Eyes]

ok here we go:

The three pins on top (looking at it with motorcraft lable facing forward):

left pin=GRND
middle pin=PIP PWR
right pin=PIP IN

The inside connector pins( ascending from the top, while looking at it with motorcraft logo facing forward):

1.PIP
2.SPOUT
3.START
4.TFI PWR
5.TACH
6.IGN GRND

Remove TFI from distributor, all tests are for resistance (ohms)

Tests:
1)GRN to PIP IN check ohms between the two, if the ohms are greater than 500, module is faulty.
2)PIP PWR to PIP IN, resistance less than 200 ohms, if not faulty module.
3)PIP PWR to TFI PWR, less than 200 ohms, if not module faulty
4)GRND to IGN GRND, less than 2 ohms, if not module faulty
5)PIP IN to PIP, less than 200 ohms, if not module faulty.

Hope this helps, sorry for the length of the post [Eek!] .

mustangcam302- That's great info to know! We're glad you joined our local board, you seem to have a lot of valuable information to offer. I could have used this info a few days ago. The TFI section in my Chilton's manual is a joke.

Yup, i have read that thing front to back sooooo many times, not to mention at UTI over in AZ, a lot of the teachers who taught driveability taught mainly the ford EFI system (possibly b/c UTI and FORD are partners)and they go through a lot of the test procedures, so i have done this one many a time for friends and such.

I have that book. Its a good book, but it has its faults. There are many not completely accurate/absolute claims and some flat out wrong statements in that book. It was written ages ago based on early to mid 1980's research.

Oh yeah, that book blatantly takes(steals) from Bosch publishings if you've read more into the field of generic EFI. You guys know how Ford EEC EFI came about right? Ford jumped ahead of GM and Chrystler in the EFI arena durring the early to mid 1980's. They worked with German engineers at Bosch to develop the Electronic Engine Control program, and by the mid 80's, in true American style Ford basicly told Bosch to go stuff it because they got what they needed to from the German engineers. yea, i went there, took the auto/diesel program and just graduated Dec. 13th from there with a 3.9GPA and 99.98% attendence rate. It was good, go in there with an open mind, dont listen to what some people say about classes and such. There are so many dumba$$es that go there thinkin they know it all and dont bother to listen to anything. I had a fun time, great teachers and i thought a very helpful school. Keep your attendence near perfect if ya can, it will help ya get into a grad program. I am currently going to be attending the Mercedes Benz ELITE program come Feb. 24th up in Rancho Cucamonga....and it sounds cheesy but, if u have a goal set, dont lose sight of it and dont let others take you off your track or make you think some class sux and not apply yourself, i think that is your opinion to choose if it sux, you make it be how u want it to be. Let me know if ya want some info on stuff, or if ya need any help with anythin. GOOD LUCK!!!

come to find out the tfi module was burnt out.
[Big Grin] taking it off was a problem
..i ended up buying a socket from autozone and took it straight to the grinder....it worked!
now i can fix me internal coolant, oil, fuel leak problem..possably the intake but every one said its the heads.? heads have 125k miles on them and never been removed since the car was new..so yeah,im gonna replace the lower intake gaskets first .then if thats not the prob. i'm gonna get
