is that normal or what? I used to never run the EGR coolant lines, just the EGR was a convenient place to bolt up my throttle linkage.

anyways, zipped off the TB/EGR as one piece ans some coolant started leaking at the bottom of the EGR/TB joint. Is that normal?

sorry for the newb question, but I'm worried if I'm possibly leaking coolant into the motor through the EGR spacer. plugs show no indication of this, nor does the exhaust, and I don't 'use' any coolant. just paranoid.

Thats not normal, I would cap off your egr if thats the case. All the egr is supposed to do is have coolant run through it. It sounds like you have a leak(obviosley).

left over coolant from yesteryear? Did you cap off the ends and 'store' the coolant all this time?

nah, I've been running coolant through the EGR for ~3 months now (ever since I smogged it and before)
time to cap it, sounds like! (I think I have another EGR spacer in the shed, I should root around for it)

That's normal. I dought you were sucking any coolant into the motor.

If you cap off the coolant lines it'd be a good idea to block off the EGR. The coolant serves to cool the exhaust gasses. I've never seen/heard of any real power gains by just blocking off the lines.
