[Roll Eyes]

Sell the 383...and buy a nice 347, then you don't need to swap mounts! [Big Grin]

um unfortunately the chevy engine will make more power than any similar engine. It just comes down to the head flow, there arent many heads for the sbf that can compete with the brodix track 1 for chevy thats all. so my search continues.... anyone have some help

you're better off selling the LX or the 383. Pick one. If you're keeping the motor, find a nice nova/chevelle/truck/etc. to put her in.

why would a head for a 302 flow the same as a 383? You realize the same companies (brodix, canfield, etc.) that are into chevy make ford heads too? If you want a 1000 HP all motor ford smallblock, you can pick something up from Yates, Brodix, possibly even AFR. If you want a quick street motor, a 351w stroked to 377/393/408/427 would be able to do anything a 383 would do (and then some for the bigger strokers). So take your chevy motor, and put it in a chevy! [patriot]

I have no idea, I'll take your 383 for my tahoe though [Big Grin] . sorry for the thread-jack.
is it EFI? I'm considering a motor swap at some point for my Tahoe ('96 350) and a EFI 383 putting 400+ to the wheels would be very nice [Wink]
passing smog of course, lol [Big Grin]

They are made for the old Hot Rods, but I have not seen any for late models. You will have to custom make (weld) ones to fit.

Someone needs to swap a damn LS1 into a Fox Body Mustang, that or an '03 Cobra motor. That'd be sweet.

hey loser you don't even have a 383 you seem to have trouble keeping small block chevy's running for more then 5k miles or so maybe you'll finally find out fords are the way to go. but my 400 chevy will smoke your 73 anyday so will my 351, that new 91 2.3 is kind of scaring me though.

I agree, in the past this has been true, but not in the past few years. There are some very efficient ford heads out there now. They flow the same as chevy heads, but at lower lifts and/or with smaller ports.

As for your motor mounts... do you care if they're solid mounts or not?

Don't make a Mustang into a Chevy thats sad. Sell either the 383 or the Mustang but don't disrespect a real car.

ur gonna have to make ur own because i dont know why a company would manufacture mounts for a chevy motor to drop into a ford. im sure there is no demand, for good reason. and when 15 people all give you the same opinion u might want to think about what they are saying [Wink] thats how peopel will react when they see it under the hood
