I am thinking about getting a Jet chip, but I am having some doubts. A friend of mine once put a Jet chip in his chevy truck and it caused a lean condition. I am worried about the same type of thing happening to my car(97'GT 4.6)..I have a cold air intake(fenderwell mount)...70mm throttle body, and Borla/flowmaster cat back(don't ask)...anyway...does anyone know if this will cause a problem, or do I have to upgrade something else in order to put the Jet chip in with no problems...Thanks [dance]

no it should work fine. i have a superchip and everthing is good on mine. it had a nice pull in the higher rpm's with it in. but then again if someone told me zip ties added performance i'd swear i felt a difference. and bolra/flowmaster mufflers? you got borla on one side and flowmaster on the other? cool i like it. [Cool] but i would of gone with bassani/magnaflow my se [Wink] lf.

Thanks 00KNIGHTMARE....actually the exhaust I have on my car is a Borla catback system, and I did not like the sound of the Borla Mufflers, so I cut them off and welded in some Flowmasters. Gues the pipes are just pipes... with the Borla mufflers missing...lol...do you happen to know what the stock hp is on 96-98 Gt's? I can not get an accurate answer...I hear 206-235....big difference...someone let me know....thanks [dance]

Don't do a chip. Spend your money elsewhere...gears are next for you...get some 3.73's. You will feel 100times more power gain from those than from a crappy chip.
