I'm looking for a master rebuild kit for a 92 5.0 LX. My goal is to build the motor stock at first, but have the right components in place to go with a Super charger or NOS later. I also want this rebuild to last a loooong time. Yep, I'm a noob, so any suggestions as to wich kit I should get, and were to get it from would be greatly appreciated!

probably cheaper/better in the long run to pick up a built shortblock from a builder, 306 shortblocks with all the goodies (forged pistons, etc. all) are only ~$1500

unless you're good at it, I'd leave the bottom end of the motor to the professionals. unless you've got all the tools (various micrometers, etc., ring gappers, etc. all) I'd punt on it myself.

or shoot, another option is the junkyard 302 shortblock. Pick up a longblock in the junkyard for $37.50 on half off day, and you might get lucky. Repeat if necessary [Big Grin]

Justin, lets hear about that kit, and cool price...! What components would you choose, and were would you buy them. Thanks for offering to help, but I live in Grass Valley, CA. Probably a lil out of your way!
