Well you ping for a few common reasons....

A) Not enough octane for the application

B) Too much timing advance for the given application and octane

C) Not enough fuel for the application (lean air fuel ratio)

D) Contaminants like oil, carbon build up or "strands" of metal hanging out in the combustion chamber.

If (A) and (B) are your problem, increase the octane or lower the timing.

If (C) is your problem, adress your fuel delivery

Are you running the proper heat range spark plugs?

How much initial timing? Are you using the MSD boost retard? What is it set at?

I forgot what your combo is..... are you the GT40X headed blown 347 guy? If so, what is the compression ratio of the motor? The X heads come in two combustion chamber sizes if I remember right. Which do you have?

Here is the list of mods that have been done. So far the car has not left Apex to date. This was a 95 5.0 Vortech S Trim with 85k on it. I thought it was time to do some work. I am now getting a little down about it, there seems to be something wrong with the combo I chose.

Doh, I always confuse you with someone else!

So did Byron tune it on the dyno?

He did but he had said to Bill that there is something wrong but he does not know what it is. Bill said there at a loss, but going to look at it on Tuesday. Byron will be there too. I hope they can find out what it is. I hate not having a car now for 3 weeks
