You can never replace a true Slick. They are always better! Please put a drivshaft loop to be safe.

Whats up Mike? Funny of you to ask this question when you did. I just bough a new pair of MT ET Streets and Weld Draglite wheels. yellow67stang is right in saying that nothing can replace a real ET Drag tire or equivilent. But, for your car a 26x10.5 ET street on a 15 inch wheel would be great. I ran that on my car a while back and the thing hooked good. You will be amazed at the results! Oh and again like yellow67stang said, GET A DS SAFETY LOOP! Heh, later bro, Drew

Mike keep in mind that Harold is the man!....lol His car can over power his et streets with ease, (600 RWHP tends to do that ) On the other hand buying his slicks would be a good move on your part, IMO.

I don't see how you could need a full slick unless you have a decent amount of power. Most people I know slow down with a full slick vs. a street slick. I would think a stockish car would just bog on a ET Drag. I guess a 5speed is different. I get 1.58 60's off my ET Streets 26x11.5-15 and I have not spun em yet. That was at 18psi.

Justin - I'm sporting the same tire you are. I'll be hoping for the same results, (no spinning). ![](biggrin.gif)

The ET streets hook just about as good as the ET drag, even under high power applications. I 60ft in the 1.34 range with 28X10.5 drags, and 1.34 with the 29X13.5 et streets. Granted the et streets are actually 1 inch taller, but the power increased when changing to the taller tires as well.

ShadeTree, I agree with ya.But I hear that even a smaller width ET Drag will hook better than a wider ET Street. Example: 26x8.5-15 ET Drag vs. 26x10.5 ET Street This is also due to the fact that the tread width is larger on the ET Drag even though it is rated a 8.5" it's actual tread width is 8.1" The ET Street 10.5"'s actual tread width is only 8.3". Besides the softer compound. ![](smile.gif) [ March 23, 2002: Message edited by: F8LPONY ]
