Yeah, thanks for the offers, but I'm actually looking for something a lot less than $200 if its just a standard T5. Otherwise the total cost including the rebuild will be more than just buying an already freshly rebuilt trans. Even the Promotion 295 SHD T5 (rated 425-450whp) is only $999 with core and regular rebuilt T-5's are on ebay for less than $700.
I hear broken T5's can easily be found for $50-80. My only real requirements are that there are no cracks or stripped bolts since I'm replacing all the gears, input shaft, cluster, synchros, bearings, etc. You don't want to chance it with a used trans.

you can go online to driveline transmissions(i think thats the name) and you can send them your t5 core and they pay for shipping and they usually give you 100-150 for a broken t5

You mean moderndriveline.com?
Says on their site: "Shipping charges are the customers responsibility, both directions" and I'm guessing shipping would be around $65-75 each direction.
Also, I don't see anything on their site about buying broken T5's. Sounds more like they would take your core and give you credit towards a rebuilt T5. Many of these places have certain criteria that the core must meet to even qualify for a core refund and you won't know what you will get until you ship it to them and they inspect it.
Broken T5's are so easy to come by for people who work in the industry like them, I can't imagine a business like that willing to pay around $200 after shipping for a broken T5, especially if they haven't seen it. [ September 09, 2010, 06:03 PM: Message edited by: Balzahk ]

Give it time, the prices will get lower as the broken T5 populus competes to unload their stuff
