figured it would be a long shot on a ford forum, but i have a friend with a 69 Camaro that the tranny took a shit. He has a TH350 in it, and would like to put a 400 in it......anyone have one laying around?

it has a 454 in it.....looks to be mostly stock with a cam, headers, and intake. He did say he had rectangular port heads tho....if that really makes a difference...

it's a toss up, depends on how hard he really drives it, point is it's been proven time and time again that a th-400 robs more hp than a th-350, so if he doesn't need the strength of the 400, than stick with a good 350

i vote th400 behind a big block! ive broke 2 th350's behind my small block making only 400 lbs! it only take 5 horse to spin that th400 and behind a big block thats not much!

back in my Camaro days, i put a th400 behind my 383 because i kept smashing 350's. it lost over 40hp on the dyno after that...they take alot more than 5hp.....
