What are some reasonable offers you guys would throw at me?
-----Some background. I owned the car, sold it, then bought it back. It had a salvage title when I got it back. I felt bad for it, missed it, and wanted to give it another chance with a good home and good owner. It was stolen from the previous owner for about a week during the process of him trying to sell it. He luckily recovered it. The thieves broke the tumbler on the ignition, hood was vandalized, interior was very dirty, all locks were jacked. Other than that, no damage to the mobility of the car. Car was deemed a salvaged vehicle with a theft recovery.
-----It's a 1992 Ford Mustang LX Coupe 5.0. No option car, manual windows, locks, and no cruise control. (Non-ex patrol car.) Lightweight from the factory but came originally with A/C and an automatic.
Since I've had the car back, I have done the following: -New windshield. Old one had a crack. -New stereo deck and speakers. (Old ones were stolen.) -Complete AOD -> 5speed conversion minus computer but drives perfectly and I've learned it's not a necessity to change it. Done by Aaron, (t-top 50) -Replaced all locks (doors, trunk and ignition) -Hood has been repainted professionally about a 3 months ago with a warranty on it, color matched perfectly. Have receipts. -Off road H pipe, 2 chamber flows, Ford motosrport headers, and pretty new stainless steel 2.5 tail pipes from the mufflers back. -3g alternator upgrade with brand new alternator, and PA Performance wiring kit was used. -FMS blue underdrive pullies for the crank and water pump. Stock 3g amp pulley is a perfect size. -5 Lug conversion with front 94 spindles, rotors, hubs, and new brake pads. Rears are Ford motorsport axles utilizing drums. -2001 Bullitt rims and tires. -Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe rearend with 3.73 gears. -Optima red top battery. -New headlamp kit with amber corners. -Extensive tune up including new water pump, gaskets, belt, hoses, new 3 core radiator with warranty, autolite platinum spark plugs, moroso air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, fuel pump, and msd cap, rotor, and black wires. -MGW short throw shifter with orange handle. (best shifter on the market in my opinion.) -Regularly maintained, oil changed every ~3000 miles at the San Leandro Ford dealer using only ford oil and filters. -Ran a diagnostic on it a couple of weeks ago and only thing that is coming up is that it has insufficient flow for the EGR Valve, tubes need to be replaced, which is simple. Some minor scratches on the car. It's not perfect, but definitely a great looking car. -Only problems that come to mind are a small coolant leak coming from the thermostat housing and the headliner is sagging. -I'm sure I haven't mentioned some things but these are all of the major things that have been done to it. I have a binder FULLLLL of receipts from stuff for this car.
What would you guys offer for something like this?

Yeah I understand that. The salvage title hurts the value of the car and I definitely would take a big money loss. Just seeing what I can reasonably get, being that these cars are in pretty good demand these days. The funny thing is that the damn car is cleaner than a lot of clean titled mustangs I see around haha.. I'm kind of wanting to get something newer and not so much of an attention getter, especially the attention from the wrong people it usually gets. Mike your car is really clean. Seen it at the show..Guess we both run into the same problem with the theft salvage title. I don't think I'd be able to pull much more then $3500 for mine so I'm sure you could get a more then me with the mod list you have..

I'd offer 3k at most (and try to talk down from there). Most of your mods are taste based and wont pull much value IMO.
I learned the hard way about a salvage title car, sold my vert that I loved with almost all the stuff you listed. for 2500. But yours is a coupe and mine a vert. You may be able to pull more, but will have to find that right buyer.

Id part it out then sell it as a roller. Probably get more money that way, sad as it is to say.

Since you are asking for opinions....
I would say between $2000-$2500. Salvage title's really kills the value. Also, sounds like the car cannot be smogged as is (EGR problem). Exterior looks really good but if the interior is in bad shape ...
Just my opinion. Good luck if you decide to sell it

yeah the thought of it being parted out hurts me because this car has so much potential. sucks to think that it's valued more in parts that the actual car itself... oh well, we'll see what happens. thanks everyone for your input.

I would pay up to $3K for a 10/10 foxbody with a salvage. It would have to be immaculate however.

mike is a really good friend of mine and this car is in PERFECT condition inside and out. he is almost as anal about keeping his car clean as i am. last time i was in his car it was totally vacuumed and spotless inside. kinda sucks that he wants to sell it and if i can come up with the money i would hella buy it from him. hit me up when you read this mike.

i am really surprised at how many replies and pm's i've gotten regarding the car. i will try to get back to everyone asap. i might have a potential deal going on with haulin'... thanks again everyone. i'll keep you updated.
couple of things i forgot to mention. -brand new 02s put in when i did the tune-up. -brand new ford replacement clutch. -brand new ford racing clutch cable.
-will pass smog with the stock pipe, stock air box filter, and replaced egr tubing (don't know what the correct name is for the part.) other than that, the car is completely smog legal. [ August 14, 2007, 03:04 AM: Message edited by: uh0h50 ]
