actually no.. 2k to 3k is what it'll cost at a regular body shop with minor body work like dings and chips. and they will use alright paint.. not the best, but medium grade.

earl sheibe high end paint job with base/clear and no body work is 800 bucks. 2-3 grand is average for any paint shop. I wouldnt pay that much for a garage job.

jee, thats odd because they painted my moms lincoln for 900 (earl sheibe)with no bodywork and then had to take it back because the paint started to flake off at the tape mark and this was their so called premium paint job and then to have it redone with miner bodywork would have cost 2500.00 just to get another shity paint job. so we figured we would try some better body shops and the lowest quote came to 3500 with a 2 year guarentee and the highest was about 7000.00 depending on materials. this included fixing your miner door dings, prep, paint and clear and whatever else they do to make it look right. by the way, all the cars are being shot in a booth. when i had the cougar painted stripping the car tape paint and everything came out to about $2050 in materials alone and i did have to use quite a bit more sandpaper than most people but i also work at the spot i got the materials from.

earl scheib is a franchise and owned and ranned by different people. some are good, some are not. my buddy got his car painted at maacos few years back and its still pretty decent till this day besides the usual rock chips and scratches. he paid $1500 tho. it all depends on the shop. but it is true.. you get what you pay for. decent paint and clear should run about $400-$600 but shops usually get it for cheaper. im not saying that this guy doesnt do a good job.. im just saying $2-3k is not unbeatable.

he said its done in a booth. Finish does look good. I personally dont like the style flames tho. Im more into the traditional super long, thin style.Im sure you do great work, 2500 isnt a crazy good price for a paint job minus bodywork. a hookup would be 2500, complete, all bodywork (nothing major), flat blocked, sprayed, jammed, cut and polished.
