I have a friend with a V6 2000 Mustang that wants to swap it out for a V8. My knowledge of mustangs stops after 1993, but I believe the 4.6 starts in 96+ cars, right? Anyways...let me know what you have and how many miles. Would also like to get exhaust and anything else required for the conversion.

4.6 started in 96. However your friend probably wants a 99+ motor as it is the PI version (265HP).

Pretty sure that in order for it to be a legal swap the motor has to come out of a car of the same model year, or newer.
