Anyone selling or know someone selling a 96-98 cobra? Interior must be black. Also cannot be convertible!!!
I'm looking to get an idea of what these are going for in the market these days. If the price OR condition of the car are right then I will pull the strings to make it happen. Looking to get into one by the latest July or August.
Thanks

I think I may have found a way to increase my capital to acquire one. Your pics are partly to blame! Lol.
Edit- You have peanut butter interior. No good for me. ![[Frown]](frown.gif) [ June 05, 2009, 02:45 AM: Message edited by: 90FoX ]

Thanks ARMY!
I found that one on CL already. I need to get a hold of him. I tried calling once with no luck. He's asking a lot for it, almost 2grand over blue book and NADA. I heard NADA has much more accurate pricing than kbb.
I never seen that CA Mustangs site. Ill have to make a member name and log in to see that stang.

LOL! Hell yea. This body style has grown on me a LOT in the past year or so. I can definitely see myself driving one.
Can the stock ALUMINUM block hold up to much boost? I figure it can't considering they went with a iron in the 03. [ June 05, 2009, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: 90FoX ]

The aluminum block in the 96-98 Cobra's, otherwise known as the Teksid block, is said to be one of the strongest modular blocks to ever be produced... Its actually better than the iron block in the Terminators, its just the rods & pistons in the 96-98's that are the weak points.... The heads arent as good as the later heads either...

So if you take a 96 dohc motor, rebuild it with forged rods and pistons, and put 14psi through it with some 99 cobra heads, think it will live with a tune?

Hell yeah... Those blocks are supposed to be good up to 900+ hp I think... But why get 99 Cobra heads, might as well get 03/04's...
If you ever did this, use the 96-98 Cobra intake cams because they are supposed to be the best stock Ford intake cams....

If you do that youll have change the manifold and the timing guides.

The only part I would use from the 96-98 would be the block....

I don't like the new edge body style as much as I do the sn95. Also you have way to much work done to your car. I would prefer bone stock or at least close to that.
Also I don't really like cars with a new motor in em. Don't know who built it or installed it.
