You can convert the square 88 plug over to the newer oval style by pulling the wires out of the connector and transfering over into the oval plug (same wire terminal style). This way you don't have to cut/splice. This wil allow you to use the more common MAF sensors. I do have the Hitachi 88 MAF square plug sensor if you need ($20)

yup thats what i did on my 88 when i went 30# injectors with mass air off a 90, worked great!!
