I put in a motion for us to start this event with the good blessing of the members of this forum. That would be kick ass since I don't hear about many cruises in the NorCal area. Let the Socal boys and girls come up and breathe the good air for a change.

We should start to get ideas to get this going. What about 2 to 3 weeks from now? I read the last gallop and looked good.

Here's what I got from a search:

We will be leaving approxiametly at 11:00-11:30
The start point for this year's Gallop is on Ferry Pt on Alameda N.A.S.
1722 Ferry Pt Alameda, CA 94501-7591 (for Map questing purposes)

I chose this place for three reasons:
1)It's a beutiful setting
2)It's realatively easy to get to the freeway
3)We'll go through a long tunnel to get to the freeway


From there we'll go north on 880 towards San Francisco
Through the toll plaza. I'm thinking if we all stay in the 2 or 3 right lanes (even if you have fast track) it'll be best.

Down 101 to the 1st Dumbarton Bridge exit
We'll stop on the Frontage road for about 15 minutes for every one to bunch back up.

Across the Dumbarton Bridge 3 across and as many deep as we can.
South on 880 to Auto Mall Parkway. We'll stop here for lunch for about an hour. The location will have many fast food eateries.

From there we'll take Mission Blvd through the canyon up to Sunol to meet back up to 680.

From there up 680 to Danville for our Final meeting spot: "The BlackHawk Auto Museum" Admission will only be $5 per person. They will set aside parking for our club and provide 4 tour guides.

Last years event was an amazing sight to see and be a part of.
I will be preselling t-shirt for $15. I'll need payment by April 15th so that I can afford to order them. The shirts will be available for pick up at the Gallop.

If anyone has those little radio's it'll make travelling so much easier.

As I get updates on exit names and times I will keep everyone posted on the first thread

I ask all to contribute your ideas so we could get this up and running.

I understand you Maeco. I Love 5.0s and I miss them

I remember the time when it took me two days to replace the starter from the rounded off bolt it had. After I was done with that, the alternator died

Ahh, the Ford technology of the 90s. Gotta love it.

Hey everyone, I hear you. Sorry for not thinking about that. I want as much of you that can make it.

You all are right and we should decide for either the 1st or 8th of June at 9:00 am. I am going to give you a rough draft of the schedule and route for us to decide.

Regardless, I believe it will be a blast!!!

i'm so down to do this cruise again. last year my car was out of order so i can't wait for this to happen


One thing that I'm not to happy about is that Alameda is actually hard to get out of ESPECIALLY comming out of the tunnel. I love Alameda and that ferry pt. is nice but cops are very aggressive and will not hesitate giving tickets and shutting down the meet spot. I suggest that it happens elsewhere.

i say we meet up at the IN N OUT in fremont off auto mall and go 84 east through niles canyon to livermore..then we could stop at the IN N OUT in livermore off n. 1st livermore to let everyone gather back up..from there we could head out on 580 west back towards dublin, hit up 680 north and finish at the auto museum right there in danville..what do you guys think?

Sorry to all for all the confusion that I have caused. OK here is what's going on with the development of the cruise.

We need to pick a day (preferably 1st or 8th of June)
Start time is 9:00 am

I have driven by a route, we have two choices here. We can start from Alameda's ferry point (1722 Ferry Pt), from the Webster Tube, we will follow 880 North to the Bay Bridge.

Or we can Start from San Francisco’s ATT Park, there is a plenty of space for us and we can get easily to the 280 Highway.

After we pass the bay bridge or start from ATT park we will take 280 South slowly for people to catch up and take 1 South for the scenic route.

Or if preferred we can keep it on the 280 South.

We then will take 92 East until it meets 280 South keeping it on 280 South which I think has better views than 101 and also gives our Stangs a chance to stretch their legs.

We can take 280 until it becomes 680 North and stop at the Automall Parkway and have lunch.
From there we will take 680 North until we get to Danville to go to the “The Blackhawk auto museum”.

Or you can decide for the route that has been posted from 1nasty cobra:

i think starting in frisco is the best idea and i think taking highway 1 and then 280 will be best since the highway is pavied pretty nice 101 is very uneven and filled with pot holes. what 1nasty cobra put isnt a bad idea but i think starting in SF cant be beat.

Ok just a suggestion here. How about naming it the "2008 Bay Area Stampede"! Just a thought.
If I'm not working I'm down and I'm bringing a few cobras with me too.

I would really love to go thru the City if that's cool. Probably more towards the Fisherman's Wharf area and take Highway 1 from there. Hey we all have nice cars right so why not show it off! Thanks!

Glad you guys like it. Just thought the other cruise is Gallop so I thought Mustangs why not stampede. Can't say bay area race you know people might take it literally.
