Racetune.net has agreed to bring out his Dynapack 3000 Chassis Dynamometer to Freedom Drift!
All makes and models are welcome to participate, preregistration via forum confirmation will reserve you a spot. Spread the word, ANYONE is welcome, if not to dyno, come hang out, check out some drifting, and what dynoing a car entails.
Price will be $55 for 3 horsepower pulls. Printouts and tuning suggestions included in the cost. (This does not include admission into Altamont Motorsports Park, or the event Freedom Drift.)
The Dynapack is attached directly to the wheel hubs, thereby overcoming all the disadvantages of tire distortion including noise, torque steer, loss of traction, tire heat and variations in tire design and wear. Direct coupling eliminates the need to estimate torque and enables the dynamometer to make very sensitive readings over a very wide range of engine speeds. With no tire roller interface the results are more precise and are repeatable. This is the type of dyno Auto manufacturers utilize for its precision, repeatability, and accuracy. Take advantage of this RARE opportunity.
Sign up early as time/space may be limited.

FYI, when we did the dyno day at Racetune a few months ago, the guy had a HUGE problem getting some of the cars on the dyno. Some of the older stangs barely fit. A few of the cars didn't fit.

I'm pretty sure you're mistaken about any clearance issues as this is a chassis Dyno, but I will ask Frank from Racetune.net about any such problems. I may be wrong, in either case I'll update here shortly.
For more event info please go to www.NCDA.net .
Dyno details will be updated as new information is gathered.

Sorry man, I was there. It took an hour just to hook up Bryan's LeMans without crushing the fenders. Jason's fastback fit with about 1/4" between the dyno and the lip of his fenders. Kevin's Nova couldn't even think of making it onto the dyno because of his shortened rear end.
Frank's a nice guy, and it was a fun day. I'm not trying to steal money from his pocket, I'm just warning people their cars may not fit on the dyno, because it happened on our last dyno day.

Oh, ok, gotcha, I was confused thinking it was a lowered car issue. But I understand now, and could see that potential problem, an hub to fender distance issue.
To clarify, for MOST car this shouldn't be an issue. I could see problems for shortened rear ends, extreme wide fender flares, or yes, older cars that typically use a very low offset wheel (a big distance from hub to fender).
Frank should be available for comment soon.
Thanks again!
