Hey everyone, I met some of you guys at Sonoma and Sacramento and enjoyed racing with you. I'm in the Coast Guard and recently transferred to Pensacola, FL. I entered in a Ford vs Chevy race at Gulfport Raceway in Mississippi and took my Mustang all the way to the final where I broke out. I put 4 family members in Chevy's on the trailer on my way to the final haha. Nice $400 payout for runner up though.
In case you're wondering, racing in the south is not like racing with you guys! All of your cars show so much more pride and craftsmanship and are just overall quality machines.
Its been fun racing with you guys, cherish the facility that Sonoma is!! Hopefully I will be stationed back in the bay area again someday.

I was stationed at Keesler and drove all over the south while training in the air force.
I was stationed in Alabama, going to gulfport, new orleans, pensacola, destin,,,,,the list goes on nearly every weekend.
I raced at the grand opening of montgomery race track in Alabama in 98 or 99. Went 12.20s there, not bad in street trim having just drove in from california in that exact same car.
I can say there is a shit ton of faster cars per racer in the south but you are correct! The PRIDE lies here on the west coast!
Take her easy!

There are quite a few fast cars and really nice operations with stacker trailers and such that even go to the wed night races. I can't tell you how many times they had to stop action because something fell off a car haha.
I've only been to Gulfport as of now, but I'm looking at doing a full points series at Mobile next year. Will probably venture to Montgomery for a big event or two.
What was your training in the Air Force?
