So here are the current car mods, and videos. Where would you go from here to get this setup into the 1.5's on motor and 1.4's on the bottle. Converter was designed for use with the bottle, but this is a motor launch. I am thinking of going to a 150lb front spring.

front end is to soft looks like u need a dbl adjustble or a adjustable shock in the front. see how fas the front comes up then goes back down. you need to slow that down a little and even if the front dont come up as far the "bounce" up and then down is gonna cause the tires to spin when it comes down from the bounce

Lol, I think a set of 150lbs, and strange adjustable will get me there. Tire pressure was at 12 lbs.

i would wait on the struts and start with the springs i used to run low 1.4 n/a in my old race car and i had the same struts but with 150 springs. always try one thing at a time to make sure ur not wasting money.

Weight Bias I am unsure as of right now, but should have it on the scales in the next few weeks. Launch RPM is right off the stall at 4500rpm, and Pinion angle is -2. Thanks

Stall should be 1200-1500 back of shift RPM. Have you tried the slicks at 11? I'd be more help if it still had a stick in it... LOL

The lowest I have had the slicks is 12, I will try 11. How low can you go on stiff sidewalls?

Many guys in my class run them as low as 10psi. All you can do is try. All my data is based of 9" slick, NHRA Stock cars, so my Stall info may be a bit aggressive if you drive it on the street much. Great looking car by the way!!!

Thanks! I do drive it on the street, and I will try going below 12psi to see how they do.

I would start off with some strange struts and shocks and maybe spring change to a 12" 170lb springs, teamzmotorsports recommends 12" vs a 14" on Strange strut. Also have you tried a two step and more air pressure?

I am going to give team z a buzz, I have a two step, but I launch right off the converter. Putt it to the floor and let the converter hold it. I have tried more pressure and got to much spin.

No OD, and it is a reverse manual valve body.

At the most, I always set the two step 200rpm less than the stall.

Is their a reason for this? Its hard to release two step (horn button) and t-brake which are separate buttons at the same time. I guess I could wire the t-brake to the 2 step on the mallory 685. Thanks

I always understood it like this, you want to work up to the stall, not pass it, otherwise you will blow through the converter. [ August 29, 2012, 01:13 AM: Message edited by: racsirx ]

its cuz you have 3.73's
4.10s will have a stock 5.0 lift almost 6" on a sticky tire
an 8" converter might help the launch, but the 4.10's on your current 9 will help all across the board
thats just my opinion
