Just wanted to give some props to all those from out site who attended yesterdays event. I think we had a pretty good showing.
I also wanted to say thank you to all the Norcal LS1-LT1 members and staff for puting on this event. I honestly think that was one of the best events I've ever attended.
So what did everyone do? I didn't get a chance to watch to much racing. To busy BS'ing with cars and friends. I ran a new best on the DR's and FINALLY got my 125 MPH pass. It was in the first round of eliminations and was a 11.23 @ 125.06 After that I was asked by track officials to slow it down, due to lack of a cage The rest of my runs were in the 11.6 to 11.8 range at around 100 MPH. I also made it all the way to the finals were I red lit and lost on a -.010 light Oh well, first place car, second place driver I guess
Again, it was good to see everyone and major thank you to the Norcal crew [ May 08, 2006, 10:08 PM: Message edited by: Yellow94GT ]

Nor Cal did a great job! So thank's again guy's. They said they will be having another event in august so I am looking forward to that one also. I got runner up in the stockblock power adder class and a mustang beat Me so I don't know how many chevy's placed in the top two? They were being hella strict about tech and they warned Me for going under the 11.5 mark also.

I was the guy in the red LS1 RX7 racing in Mod stock I think against you Yellow94GT. I got bumped up out of the stock motor class because of the hybrid weight thing. There was some good racing and I was happy to get a new best 10.6 @ 129 1.5 60ft on nitrous.

I was a spectator. Nice rx7 with the ls1 swap that is becoming more popular nowdays. I have a clean 72 240z with a bad motor that I'm looking to build up and I may just swap in an ls1. Being smog exempt is nice. And its nice and light.

Yeah, I wasn't really planning on winning MS with a outgunned car for the class but a few good runs and some lucky red lights by the opponent never hurt.
Nice mustang though, it looks like it had a lot of sweat, blood and money to get the car that clean.

Consistancy can win a lot of races. I was the guy that raced you in the first round. I should have beat you but I missed a gear. My reaction and my 60ft. was enough to beat you but Like a dumbass I missed 3rd gear and let you scoot past me enough to win the race.
Good job though on the win!

Your car was a lot faster than I thought it would be! I figured in that race I had a lot faster car and tried just not to redlight.. but I really really slept on that one! The converter in the car wouldnt make the damn thing move off the line unless I had the bottle on.. which didn't help in a all motor class.
There were a lot of really clean and fast cars out there.. hopefully the sept shootout is as much fun as this one was.

Yeah I was wondering why you were sleeping on that light. I had like a 1.6 60 on that run and I think you had a 1.7 maybe 1.8. My reaction was like a .085 to your .2xx. I was pissed that I missed that gear!! Yeah hopefully the september Event is as good or maybe even better!

Glad everyone had fun, and thanks to ALL the racers and spectators who made it out. Without you there wouldn't BE an event.
Also, thanks for the remarks on this one being more fun and more organized/well run.
I'd have to say that is probably 75% because we had the track all to ourselves, so there were no other overlapping/conflicting events and 25% of me and the Norcal staff learning what to do. I had WAY more volunteers this year and I think that helped a lot.
Hopefully the events in the future get better and are even MORE well run.
Any tips or ideas on HOW to make the event more fun?

Yeah, coughing up the win in MS by red lighting by .010 hurts.
You should come out to the next event. If not to race, just to come hang out

Have a Tow Truck ready to pick Maro or LS1 vehicals off the track. Like that Freaking Silver RX7 in the middle of the track. That or invest in a good jack hahhaa.
Just playing man it could have easily been the other way around.
It was a good even though. Some people liked the anoucer but after about 5 or 10 mins somebody should have taken the microphone from him.
All in all very satisfied racer here!
