Jus seeing what you guys think. I went on wednesday to Infineon last year and ran 13.6 @ 104.5ish. LS1's there were running 99-102 and LT1's 94-96. Seemed like a slow track considering all these LS1 dudes posting about stock 107-108 and higher trap speeds.
Anyhoo, jus seeing what your guys preference is.

Sears has a headwind @ their track and you wont be able to run your best there. I recommend going to Sacramento Raceway... @ Sears i ran 14.180 @ 97 with basic bolt ons on my 5.0 then i went to sac and ran 13.80s @ 100-102s That was like 6 months ago ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

The next time someone makes a post asking for advice about which track to go to, please don't reply until you actually have been to either of them. Thanks.

Infineon is about 25 mins from my house. Sac is abit more than an hour.
I used to have a shop at Infineon where I stored my drag car, and back then (early/mid 90's), Sac's track surface was absolute garbage in a low 10 sec car. The 60ft's have always been there, but the left lane "hump" was frightening.
Now, Sac will definately give you better numbers. Infineon has a nicer facility, but lets face it, we aren't going for the scenery.
Infineon has a horrible starting line(very inconsistent from pass to pass), and late in the day(the money rounds, baby!), the wind picks up, and you better be knowledgable about the e.t. adjustments, or its trailer time.
One event in particular, a Sac, we had a 40 mph tailwind(woo-hoo), and at about 100 feet out off the starting line, there was NO drag on the car. MPH was up almost 3 in the traps, and e.t. was down almost a tenth.
If I am running my street car(stock), I will run at Infineon. It just isnt worth the drive to beat on the equipement to go all the way to Sac.
Since we also run a low 10 sec bracket car that runs on Alky, conditions dont matter to us so much. I'll settle for the 1.37 60ft's at Infineon, and just adjust our dial-in as needed when the wind picks up later.
In a nut shell: You want good numbers, go to Sac. You want a challenge, and a better return road(haha), go to Infineon.
You want lousy pits... go to Famoso!!!

I've never raced at Infineon but I'm told they are really by-the-book at tech inspection. Sacramento Raceway is kind of like the drags when I was a kid at Baylands Raceway in Fremont. Real laid back and a lot of fun. The wind can definitely be a factor at Sac. My last trip up there was with my 302 powered 69 convertible and we got a little tail wind help to run the 14.308. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

i have never had the need to go to sac, to get an extra tenth.
do you realize how gay that sounds.
it is like racing downhill, of course your car is going to be faster
i have bben to sac, and been to sears point
who cares if a car is a tenth and 2 mph faster at a track, if you race on the street, that tenth doesnt do you shit.
