Went to Sac. last night and had an awsome time!! I ran a new best time on motor of 13.488 @ 102.571 MPH on my new 18" drag radials!!! I am going to keep practicing my launch and believe I can get a 13.2 out of it without any more mods!
My best friend {Steve Gunn} put a serious whooping on me on the first pass of the night. He drives a stripper 2000 Camaro with every free mod there is. He ended up running a 12.7 @ 110 MPH with a 2.0 60'.
More impressive than that, was my friend Dan Glen who ran a pair of 13.0XX @ 110 MPH in his BONE STOCK 03 Cobra with only 500 miles on it. If he can lower his 60' to a 2.0 or lower, that is a 12.60 car no sweat!!
Later,
Perry

Perry go back to Kragen and get your money back. My wife got a 13.9 in the Lightning just thought I would brag for her, and a 2.1 60 foot with factory F1's. Not bad for her first time ever.

I had a great time as well. I just wish I hadn't killed my battery right before my last chance to race. I left my fan/elec.water pump on like an idiot!

I agree Perry... it was a GREAT TIME!
My first run was the best of the night. 13.0 @ 113 mph with a 2.39 60'. I'm happy with how hard the car is running, especiall for the mods. CAI and Exhaust. If I could just learn to launch this thing, I'd be in te solid 12's, easy!
Perry... I think I saw you on the ride home. Who was that guy in the LT1 infront of you and the cobra? I eneded up playing with him on the freeway.

Jason,
I was in the Sonic Blue Cobra on HWY99. You were playing with my friend Micah, in the 97 LT1 camaro. I almost joined in on the fun, but after a long day I just decided to cruise. Micah had fun, he knew you'd kill him, but he's a good sport. He use to own a 01 WS6 that went 13.2&108mph stock. What did you end up runing last night? I ran a 13.06@110.8mph...stock down to the paper air filter. I had crappy 2.23 60 times casue I was babying it out of the hole. Let me know what you ran.
Perry,--I had fun as well.--Nice having dinner with you and the guys!--Dan

Nice time Dan! Especially considering you're bone stock.
Yeah, it's funny. I had my father in law, and my wife sleeping in the back of the car. When your bud taunted me, my father in law was practically begging me to run him. So I downshifted, and floored it.
The car seeemed VERY sluggish. And I built up steam slowly. Just slowly walking that LT1. I was thinking the extra weight in the car (ice chest/people/chairs, ect) was REALLY slowing me down!
Then I noticed I was in 5th. LOL! So for the second run I downshifted into 3rd (on these 6spds 5th and 3rd can be tricky), and gave your boy a much better showing.

Better watch out! Perry has your 13.9 with his 13.4!
And if Perry isn't around, I'll just pull out a blue cobra for ya.

Pretty fun stuff Sat Night!
Perry, sorry about the trouble with your spray, Bro! Can't wait to see you rip off some squeeze passes! Correction... my best was 12.7@111.5, thanks to Donny helping me with my burnout! Now if I can cut better than a 2.0 60'...
Good to see you and the crew, Jason! Impressive trap speeds, Man! You're gonna LOVE them Nittos when you get them!
Ha! That funny you ran into Micah!(LT1)
Sorry I didn't get to meet the guy in the Blue Cobra... You going to the meeting on Saturday? [ September 08, 2003, 02:18 PM: Message edited by: Steve Gunn ]
