That 03 Cobra is my friend Armon from X2C Motorsports... He's got all the bolt-ons, solid-axle, and still using the stock Ford blower...
bunchmyfunky ,
what are your mods and what do you trap at LACR... Also, what's your 60ft there as well...
Thanks... [ March 13, 2003, 07:37 PM: Message edited by: Rev Happy ]

That silver stang with the black front end and the huge scoop was there last night he said that car should go 7.40's.He said he ran that day and shut down at 800FT mark and ran 8.20's.
Here he is not the vest video though.

The fastest I ran that day was a 13.79 at 96+ The fastest mph that day for me was a 97+. 60fts were 1.79 to low 1.8s. I usually trap 103s and 13.2 and 1s at SAC. Mods are in the sig.

Hmmm...
Well I went up to LACR for the first time on Wednesday and was dissappointed with my trap speed...
Car is 96 Cobra (55,000 miles) with the following...
BBK O/R H ASP Pulleys UPR Powerpipe with Big mouth filter 4.30 gears
Out of four runs, the best the car trapped at was a 96.667 (2,710 ft. above sea level for the readers that aren't familiar with Palmdale) so corrected the car crossed the traps at 99mph... WTF???? That was on a 14.6 run (14.2 corrected)........ WTF?????
I was running street tires with 4.30s so my best 60ft was a 2.302, but that shouldn't have affected my trap speed that much correct? I can't imagine track conditions being that bad... With the mods I have, I would expect my car to trap at least over a 100 up there...
No check engine light... No hesistation, car runs good/strong throughout the powerband so I don't think my IMRCs are at fault... I dunno... Plugs and wires are a year old (NGK Iridiums, FMS 9MM wires), just replaced the fuel filter about 2 months ago...
I'm lost here...

lol...
That had to have been the run where I let my friend drive it... He thought he could do an agressive launch on street tires with 4.30s... Even though I straight out told him to launch at idle and go 1/2 throttle until he hits second... Pissed me off that he didn't listen to me... That was the last time he will ever be driving my car... On that run, he cut a 2.850 60ft and ran a 15.9 at 90mph...
I'm actually headed up there next wednesday as my friend is going to let me borrow some drag radials... Still think the car is down on power somewhere as it should be trapping higher... Car just doesn't feel as snappy as it should with the 4.30s... Talked to some other Cobra 4.30 owners and they said they can break the tires loose in second... For some reason, I can't...my car just jumps forward at WOT in second... Going to start with the plugs (which are only a year old WTF?) and go from there...
Did you have your car there, or were you just spectating?

Huh your car shouldnt have a problem breaking loose in second on street tires.Check the plugs, wires and the coil.I didnt have my car there i went with my friend.
What were your trap speeds there? And what mods do you have?

Exactly...
Plugs (NGK Iridiums) and wires (FMS 9mm) are a little over a year old... They should be lasting longer than this... I heard with the coil packs that the car will miss and throw a check engine light...the car has done neither...
My mods are
BBK O/R H-pipe ASP Pulleys UPR Powerpipe with their big mouth filter 4.30 gears
The best the car trapped at was a friggen 96 (uncorrected of course) I was very dissappointed in the trap speed... and thought the car should be trapping *at least* what those two new M3s were (Light Blue one and that Silver one that you might have seen) at 100-101 consistently...
Going to change the plugs on Monday and head out to LACR again on Wednesday to see what it runs on drag radials... hopefully the plugs will fix the trap speed...
