I hate to be a lame ass, but if you run 13.9 or better you need a helmet right? if so where do you recommend getting one for a good price and will it work for open track too? thanks.

Yes, to run anything faster than a 14.000 you are required to have a helmet which meets snell 2000 standards. You can get these anywhere motor cycle stuff is sold, thats where I got mine anyway
