Just bragging for a friend and fellow racer here in Manteca.....Some of you might have seen him run....Black 2001 Transam..slicks..6 pt roll cage..5 way harness...car weighs 3500 lbs without driver...last Sat 12/07 02 he posted these times; 11.7 et @ 115 mph 60' 1.63 on the motor.....10.7 et @ 128 mph 60' 1.53 with 150 shot....he had dynoed 351 rwhp on motor and 508 rwhp on the juice.....Yes I will be running him once I get a tranny in that will hold up with slicks..should be a hell of a race...3 months..if finances are right [Big Grin]

Yeah, Crash's car is a BEAST! Big Congrats to him.... It was fun watching

Damn! He picked up 13 mph from that 150 shot!

Nitrous..... [worship] [worship] [Eek!]

10 second cars are kind of the rarity it seems. Tons off 11/12 second cars (especially if you allow N20) and tons of cars in the 9's or better.

Not a lot of races available for the 10 second land cars! good luck beating him by the way.

Looks like he's getting all his power to the ground. Its an automatic car with a converter right?

FPSSs are nice, or the block was just meant to go, these motor dont seem to blink when spraying a 150 shot correctly.

as far as the dyno numbers, I remember hearing him say quite a few things changed after that dyno, and it was also unlocked, so there goes about 15-20 rwhp right there, the traps confirm a rwhp closer to 380-390. awesome times! another 10 second LS1, i wanna see a 10 second 6 speed one, too bad the postal express isn't around to enjoy the great racing weather.

Kevin!...Yes would like video on this...Crash's last dyno is correct 351 on motor 508 on the juice , this was his last tune with the lap top just before he ran...no other changes , other than the 12 pt. Hal shocks...made a big difference

Any idea what his heads flow? Specs of the cam?

Also- what does a stock LS6 intake flow per runner?

Just trying to compare his results to windsor motors [patriot]

Posted by AaronC (Member # 86) on :

Stock heads, TR224/224 .580/.580 112 LSA 108 ICL, longtubes, full exhaust, gears (?), converter, slicks, volant cold air, removed baffles from his hood (WS6), TNT nitrous kit, LS1 edit (?). The car flat out hauls ass. He spun the tires some on the nitrous passes. Went 11.7's at 115.5 MPH 2-3 times and backed up his nitrous runs 2-3 times as well. I was impressed [Eek!]

"Sisky Wolf"

Is this Lary, if so you beter work on a few other things then a trany before you go after Jason. Unless you mean a C4 with a 5000 RPM converter 4.88 gears and 29" slicks with a 8500-9000 red-line. This is a car for WIKD281. By the way I just lined up my Dyno tune with Byron at Apex for 01/25/2003, can't wait.

Hi Don! Yes it's me...blew a blower belt.. car in Sac. getting a new clutch and 8 rib HD belt..lets get together on my needs for hooking up.. going to add intake for supposedly another 60 rwhp...you tell me what I need tranny wise..glad to see the mustang moving hope you get the HP your looking for..would much rather see you at Mustang Ranch rather than Apex...Byron is the Man...

Posted by Don (Member # 938) on :

Never been to either, is Mustang Ranch better then Apex?

Posted by 66 InjectedCobra (Member # 819) on :

Hey Don mustang ranch is not better than Apex But it makes no difference cause they both use Byron as their tuner and both have the same dyno...

The people at apex are alil more friendly...

Hey Dude did yu send that check for the TB yet??
Later...Mike

Right Don..no difference except I found the guys at Mustang Ranch a little more informative and easier to work with...Byron covers a lot of Dyno's

Did a little analyzer on Jasons run last Sat. based on his motor run he should be at 420 rwhp...and his 150 shot ..he should be at 572 rwhp

Your friend with the black 99 Cobra kicking 633 rwhp should turn 10.3 at 132 mph...

guess I have a lot more to do to get race ready!

Hopefully that clock doesnt say 10.3@132 [Big Grin] > all depends on the belt slippage> but the 623rwhp was w/o ice in the cooler> Im actually hoping for single digits> hopefully!

What weight (with driver obviously) and MPH did you use? You know those calculators always give FLYWHEEL numbeers right? They also assume a stick shift car.

NO's I posted were rwhp...WIKD 281 hope you get your wish I haven't checked your profile ..are you mods listed..Cole built my last motor. just blew an 8 rib blower belt..what tranny are you running , and how is it holding up

Posted by Don (Member # 938) on :

I wouldn't go off just a peak HP #. Try not to forget that his torque cure is a lot flater then yours, and last alot longer. Peak numbers never mean much unless you have a full dyno graph to go off of.

"In theory" 510 rwhp through an automatic is enough to push 3750 lbs to 127 mph in 1320 feet. 575 rwhp will run a lot more than 127 mph [Eek!]

Don- with a loose converter and/or steep gears out back, peak HP numbers pretty much _do_ mean everything.

Posted by Don (Member # 938) on :

I could have swore that I said with the right gear, RPM and converter he could run good numbers. I still think you can predict more off of a whole dyno graph, but keep using peak HP if that is what works for you. The only true test is to go to the track, so let me know when you are ready Lary, because I want to go. Maybe I will be ready about the same time you are, and we can go together. It will be bad weather for a while now anyway, so I am sure it won't be anytime soon.

hey guys thanks for all the congrats and stuff...

just a lil info, i did dyno 351 n/a and 508 n20 at ATP fremont... only things i changed between that dyno and the track was replaced the Z06 85mm MAF i had on there with my stock maf/TR Ported ends. It made my Ltrims go up over 15%. That is a lot of extra airflow for those not familuar with atap stuff. i then adjusted the fuel injector flow rate to compensate for the extra air ie bring the LTrims down. and leaned out the WOT table because of the injector change. Also added Hal Adjustables for the suspension and my stock rear springs. The Eibachs wouldnt allow the rear shocks to work.

Car is a 2000 WS6, Race weight 3400lbs + my 230. Stock Heads, Cam, LT Headers, LS6 intake, Ported TB, Volant Air Box, Mufflex Exhaust, 4k Stall, 3.73 gears in a stock 10bolt.

Currently doing some goodies to lighten it up more and make a lil more power i hope. Hopin for Mid 10s now... See ya all on race day!

Yup, your MPH/ET sounds exactly right for your RWHP. Looks like you're getting all your power to the ground [burnout]

9's with a t-56 and a convertable [worship]
keeping your stereo system in the trunk too?

Posted by WIKD 281 (Member # 40) on :

Definately not going to keep the stereo in> going to take that out> as well as my back seat> for the track only.
Problem is that the convertibles weight more> sometimes I wish I woulda chose a coupe> but then I wouldnt be able to:
as JayL puts it..........
"Drop the top after I smoke an LS1"
hehe
Or it was something like that [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]
Just kidding guys> all in good fun [patriot]
