Run #1: No spout (oops), no helmet (had to let off) 1.93 5.80 9.06 75.39 mph (no 1000 ft. all day) 15.75 @ 57.18 mph
Run #2: 2.00 5.68 8.76 79.85 mph 13.71 @ 100.10 mph
Run #3: 1.89 5.53 8.60 80.13 mph 13.52 @ 100.59 mph
Run #4: 1.90 5.50 8.56 80.04 mph 13.453 @ 101.07 mph
Run #5: 1.85 5.49 8.56 79.87 mph 13.46 @ 100.85 mph
Run #6: 1.86 5.51 8.56 80.24 mph 13.459 @ 100.93 mph
New mods since last time: Slicks and skinnies, 4.10's, short belt, and an electric fan instead of the crank driven one.
-Not too bad, but I just have to learn how to launch it to bring that 60 ft. down (launches were usually just let the clutch out really fast from 5000). Any tips? On the first run I just wanted to see how it launched since I couldn't make a full pass, otherwise they would've booted me. I'm kinda thinking about longtubes and an offroad X, we'll see how that goes. [ November 17, 2002, 04:12 PM: Message edited by: 5.0Brian ]

So only 2 tenths and 2mph from gears, short belt, slicks, skinnes, electric fan? Not knocking you, but something doesnt seem right.
I thought you ran 13.80's bone stock, stock gears?

It was a 13.9 all stock. Yeah, it was slower than I expected for what I did to it, but I still need to learn how to launch it though. Otherwise, I don't know what's up with the thing. Any suggestions?

13.4 is still very impressive with basic bolt ons. most of the bolt on 5.0's at the track barely hit 14's

I agree, once he learns how to wring out the combo he has all the makings of a high 12 second pass. Maybe a high 1.6x or a low 1.7x 60' and 3 clean powershifts MPH seems a little off though? Maybe something is up with the tune? shortbelt and electric fan should have bought you at least a solid 1 mph.
speaking for myself, I haven't figured out how to launch a spec stage III clutch motivated car yet either ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif) [ November 17, 2002, 06:29 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]

I don't, most bolt-on 5 liters are in the 15's, my own personal survey At least 14's, if not 15's.

You guys are joking right?!
I really hope so. Expecailly for a fox bodied 5.0. My heavy ass sn95 went 14.6 with headers and pullies for god sakes.
I'm pretty sure my grandma could get a 14 second slip in stock 5.0 fox ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif) [ November 17, 2002, 06:41 PM: Message edited by: Yellow94GT ]

So is a 14.8 @ 94mph w/ a 2.318 60ft bad for my 90GT with full exhaust and crappy street tires only?

yeah Drew, I'm not joking. Your basically the best driver around and ran a solid 14 in a bolt on 5 liter. Take a look around sometime among your bretheren. It's really quite sad every fox body 5 liter I see at Sears I can put money on running a 15.x and come out ahead if I bet on them all plenty of them at Sac too.
plenty of 14 second LS1's too so let's not feel too bad

Nawwww. Your slow J/K bro. I hit a 14.6 with a 2.3 60ft in my car with just flows and H-pipe with cats. And shitty ass tiers.

Shit, maybe I have just failed to realize this....I would understand a lot of 15 second 5.0;s at sears cause that track sucks....and I have seen a some at sac also. But not a majority....I don't think ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Good times Brian. Have you considered a different MAF, it could be worth 1 mph or so.

Umm, whether it be Sears or Sac, a 15 second fox body with even pair of mufflers only (5 speed) that runs in the 15's is ALL driver error.

Thanks everyone. No, I haven't really thought of getting a different MAF yet. What would be good to get, the C&L one that also replaces the inlet tube? If not, what would?

dont get me wrong, i'm not saying the cars are that slow. i dont know, maybe they are neglected cars or they dont drive like you! i've also seen a few heads/cam/intake 5.0's run high 13's and even low 14's. come on, you're at the track enough. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
