Originally posted by need-a-cage: [QB] Unfortunately, I should be on my way up there but my car took a crap yesterday when I was doing one last test to check the AFR and Boost. Everything looked good and then after the last run to redline, I let off and then started to coast. When I got back on the gas a tiny bit it started to ping bad. This was with 1/4 throttle at the most and everything was fine on several WOT pulls in 3rd before that. I pulled over and it was not running on all 8. I got home and pulled the cap and the rotor was toast. The end that makes the contact with the cap had fallen off down into the distributor. I replaced the cap and rotor and it is still not idling on all 8. I put my old set of plugs in it, tried a different distributor, and tried to bypass my MSD. I don't know what the hell is wrong with it. I still can't believe it was running with the f'd up rotor. I am not even sure that just happened. I guess I will try different wires, but if that isn't it then it must be unrelated to the messed up rotor. It should be a great day out there. I am so pissed that I am missing it! Well, I am more pissed that I have a broken car parked in the garage! [/QB]
