With 1/2 tank, car weighed 2950 w/o passengers. To the chagrin of the track officials, I went 12.84 @ 107.72 w/a 180# passenger (3350 lbs. raceweight) weaknuts 1.85 60' too
Only got one other pass, and it sucked as I only ran 12.9@ 106 by myself, another weaknuts 1.85 60'
basically I need a lot of practice again. The combination of a spec-stage III clutch, a tremec 3550 tranny, and a 5" monster tach flashing in my face mean I have to re-learn this car all over again. Tough to do with only 2 passes (and your stupid friend yelling at you to "let off" lol, pussy!)
combo is untouched '94 cobra longblock (heads, cam, rockers, shortblock) with a 'typhoon' (edelbrock performer rpm) intake, longtubes, off-road H, 3.73 gears. Run with a full accessory belt, no underdrive pullies, and no icing, and no ram-air. Also fuel pressure set to a questionable level (didn't have a chance to tune it in).
will return next Sat. with a regular performer upper and a 'proper' raceweight to shoot for 12.5's [ October 27, 2002, 08:04 AM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]

Not bad at all given the conditions. You have to toss on some pullies on there before the next time you run. You and Jim should be a great race...I'll reserve my opinion on who will win though I wish I could have made it out last night...but on the flip side, I now have my amature ham radio license

Maybe next time I go out with the Vette we can set up a race. I think it would be close.

those turbo buicks were kicking everyone's ass last night (except Bounty Hounter, lol)
when I ran a 12.8, the guy in the GN ran a: 1.68 60' 7.386 @ 92.918 1/8 11.598 @ 117.75
due to the R/T difference, he only beat me by a couple cars but he FLEW by me around 1000'
but seriously, I don't really much care about this current combination. It's pretty weak but I think I'll take advantage of the current weather to learn how to drive my car again on saturday's
f8lpony: I don't race daily driver's no offense. with some more work and a bottle maybe I could try your other slowmatic LS1 [ October 27, 2002, 01:27 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]

fastest GN I saw was the asian guy with a flatbed trailer behind a 4-runner SUV with TT's through the hood and a parachute.
saw an 8.4, I think that's bounty hunter territory, but I'm pretty sure they never raced. trbo50 (norman chang) has seen upper 7's recently in his turbo windsor, so they buick guys can race him instead, lol.

I could be wrong here. But from what I have seen over the past 6 months, 8.4 is out of bounty hunter territory.
Norman has seen mid 7's lately. 7.5 @ 186 to be exact.
That twin turbo buick is pushing 1500 HP!!! Now try keeping that going straigh down the track

Shade Tree,
No offense taken bro,
I just meant next time because by then I'll have long tubes, a higher stall converter and a small cam which would put me in the high 11's. But you with a bottle would put you in my T/A's N/A range (11.50 or so).
Or are you going nuts with it and wanted to race bottle to bottle?
All in fun no matter what.

I am no where near an 11 on motor with stock GT-40 iron heads, lol, so that would be a stupid race (at least for me, kinda like those 11.3 turbo buicks I ran last night, heh) [ October 27, 2002, 06:35 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]

Full props for that! Even if you have removed everything from your car.
If you wanna run your bottle to my N/A lemme know after you get some tuning with it done. I am just looking for close races and lets face it once you get into the 11's good races are hard to find. I know I'm gonna have trouble with the new setup and a wetkit because I'll be forced to race all the "built" Mustangs and old school Novas and such.

I ran approx 150#'s heavier than my car compared to it's factory weight. I wouldn't call a car heavier than stock stripped? [ October 27, 2002, 06:40 PM: Message edited by: shade-tree ]
