What's up CA Fords. Does anybody have any recommendations for dyno tuning? I can't find any shops that will tune foxbody's anymore(with factory ecu).

That’s a real good question. I gave up on the stock setup because I didn’t know anyone who still tunes foxes. Now I just run the Holley terminator X on my fox and fuck does it run good!

There are very few people tuning the old EEC platforms nowadays. The problem is that the only way to datalog them is either with a RaceSystem snEEC-IV or with a stand-alone.
I tuned my own car using SCT, but I will more than likely be making the switch to Holley EFI.
Going back to Nate, I believe he tunes cars with a quarterhorse chip. Hit him up and ask because I could be wrong. But Holley EFI IMO is the way to go.

NEIGHT- How long have you been running the Term X? Any insight on the self-learning feature?
I am looking for a solution to tune my 331. Thought about Tweecer, but I don't have time to learn those tables.

Had my car tuned at go wraps with a terminator x system. The car runs great but hesitates starting when hot. 331 stroker with a vortech V2. They’re the only guys I could find to tune the car. [ 2020-09-21, 09:26 PM: Message edited by: SantaClara_Cobra ]

Thanks for sharing. Did the hesitation develop over time?
Going to continue doing research, but seems like the Term X is a good option.

I've thought about switching over to something like holley efi. Anybody know if this is smog legal?

It's not. No aftermarket tune is smog legal. Even with the stock ecu. Your best bet (if avoiding SCT) is to go with something like Megasquirt pnp where there's no visual difference from stock.
Unless the smog tech pulls your kick panel for some reason.

Be careful with a tune. If you go to smog and don’t go Backnto smog you’ll get hit with a BAR.

I'm interested to hear more about this place. I'm looking for someone local to tune the fox. I have a great tuner in Florida working remote with me, but I'd love to hit the dyno.

I emailed them the day I posted this for some information and have yet to hear back. Quality business model.

. The guy seems busy as hell. I know I hats not an excuse but I’d take a good shop with bad customer service over a shop that doesn’t know shit with good customer service. Trust me I’ve been there and seen them all. Here’s his number. His name is rich +1 (408) 828-4746 I haven’t tried them because I ended up fixing shit myself.

Thank you for the information. I already have a great mechanic locally, I was just hoping to find a nearby place to hop on the dyno to finalize the tune.
The tuner I've been using is in FL and does a fantastic job. I'll just stick with him and tune on the freeway.
