Within the last two months a very close friend of mine lost his wife so i've been trying to help his mind heal and been taking him fishing and i think it's working. Weve been having a blast, We have been knocking the crap out of the bass out at lake sonoma. Just wanted to see who else fishes and where at i'm sure we have some pointers to share to increase all our odds.

All that I can say is that I'm jealous. I used to bass fish all over Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. Life has since got in the way. Hopefully, I'll get back to it one day.
If you're ever driving up 80 toward Tahoe, stop by Bass Pro Shops in Rocklin.

Hadn't fished for many years. Went about 4 times last year and hope to do it more this year. Usually go out on the delta since it's close and pull in a few bass (largemouth and stripers). Biggest so far was a 10 lb striper, but of course, my daughter caught it. Seems to always work that way!!

Whether the rod is, or isn't bent, time spent fishing is time well spent

In the winter time, my buddy and I like to hit up sturgeons near the Martinez bridge.
Pittsburg has a lot of good spots for stripe bass if you're on a boat. Most times we go out, we catch our limit.

I usually hit up the East Bay lakes (Del Valle/Quarry/Shadow Cliff) even though the water management at these places are terrible. Best tip for any fishing is to go and hang out with the regulars that are fishing everyday. They have already put in the time and ground work to know all the good spots/techniques.

No, I usually catch and release, unless I someday catch the lunker and have it mounted on my wall.

I've been an avid fisherman since i was 7 years old. I do it all, Lake fishing, Ocean fishing, river fishing. Bait soaking and lure throwing.
