I'm wondering if anyone here works at the DMV or knows anyone who can look something up for me. I'm trying to pay my registration for my '86 online but it keeps saying my information on the car is invalid. Just trying to save time because Redwood City DMV is one LOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGGG wait.

AAA is your friend... walk in and walk out for DMV services. 10 minutes is my longest wait there.

I have AAA too! Do you know if they give you a permit for the month and does the registered owner(it's my car just not under my name) have to do this?

As long as all the fees are paid AAA will give you a permit and as far as registered owner it depends on who you get most times they only asked for a AAA membership but I've gotten some folks that hate the job a couple of times and they want the registered owner present.

What he said. I got a moving permit for my car but all the paper work was under my name. Give them a call I'm sure they can tell you over the phone.

To use the aaa DMV services the car must be registered to you. They won't help you out if it's still someone else name
