I'm trying to find someone or a shop that does plastidipping in san jose or somewhere very near here.I'm just trying to finally get it done on my car. My brother and his friends were gonna do it but they've been saying that for over a year I'm tired of waiting for them to getting around to it. I have the spray gun and 2 gallons of gun metal grey and 2 gallons of anthracite gray and from what im told that should be enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help in pointing me to the right direction! [ 2015-07-06, 09:35 AM: Message edited by: MauriSSio ]

almost everybody else's car that I've seen dipped (in person and in pics) looks badass, why would mine automatically look like shit? Or do you just not like the matte or satin finish? If it doesn't look good, I would just end up peeling it off its not like it's permanent. It's perfect to use for experimenting with the look of a car. It "works" on some cars and not so much on others. [ 2015-07-06, 10:45 AM: Message edited by: MauriSSio ]

I agree it usually doesn't turn out too well. Photoshop might be a better option to get the idea of how it may look

Mmmm...nah. but thanks. That's like saying bench racing and dynoing a car would be a better option than actually taking it to the track to see what it can do in real life
Any help on actually getting it done would be greatly appreciated! [ 2015-07-06, 11:15 AM: Message edited by: MauriSSio ]

Those cars that had the matte finish and looked really nice were probably wrapped, not dipped.. Dip usually doesnt come out as nice as wrapping your car.. but hey, its YOUR car so you can do as you please.. hop on Craigslist, theres a bunch of people who plastidip cars on there.. usually they charge $300-$400 with supplies and everything.. so it might be cheaper since you already have the plastidip.. i was referring to the results of the people's cars I've seen on the plastidip message boards and plastidipped cars I've seen in person, including my cousins truck. i just can't find anybody in san jose Santa Clara gilroy area that'll do it. I found some dude on craigslist that does it but he lives all the way out by oakland and doesn't reply to texts, though that is his method of communication.

Trust me when you have a car dipped right it comes out just like vinyl wrap. I had a matte white dipped M3 and looked amazing.

Why do people do that with nice cars? I couldn't bring myself to do that shit to my DD ford escort LOL.
But I guess I am getting too old.

I felt the same exact way about plasti dip before I actually saw a couple in person. A buddy of mine in LA has a green dipped '13 Lambo and it actually looks better than wrap IMO.

Not to mention have you ever peeled off plasti-dip??!! It's not as easy as everyone makes it out to be,get ready for a long ass day or 3-5 on a full car and bald blistering finger tips, shit is tough in some spots,I'm still finding that crap in sections on my wheels from some clown that dipped them and it's a bitch to peel off believe this..Just not worth it in my o2 id rather polish my shit paint then dip a car..

lol quit exaggerating.I've already peeled off my cousins plastidip from his truck once, it really wasn't that hard at all. The trick is to make sure you put down lots of coats. If you half ass it with only a couple coats with spray cans it can be a bit of a pain to peel. I've done that as well with a black stripe on my hood.

I plasti dipped my brembo wheels on my 2013, and i left it on there for a year. When I went to remove it I used goo gone and a pressure washer because it didn't peel right off. I can't see myself dipping the whole car though.
