So I need new headlights, and I have read a bit about clear coating them to last longer. Any ideas on what would be a good price to clear? The places I have talks to won't even consider doing it, or want way too much (300 or more)

Do it yourself. Buy a can of fine clear coat and and spray evenly. They even sell a trigger for sprays cans which makes a whole lot easier.

I found it looks good when you get some 2500 grit wet sand paper and wet sand it. Then hit it with some rubbing compound and buff them out. Then clear them eith a good clear can(5-8$) and they will come out really good. Sounds like a hassle but its not and its worth it.

Thanks guys. Just have heard horror stories of rattle can clear issues with headlights. What's a good brand to use?

Last time i did my dads car 07 civic his headlights where shot so i sanded them out and clean them out and at the auto store there was a can that was special just for headlights. And man it came out clear like new again. But like i said spray evenly on a nice sunny day.
