I was thinking about buying this truck today. He says it has 83k miles but I don't think that's true only because these cars came with a 5 digit gauge so it could have rolled over but going based off of the way the body looks and how clean it is I think it's a cool truck. It's owned by a 60 year old gentleman.
Anyone ever owned one or recommend these trucks? Reliable? Gas mileage? It's a 1976 toyota pickup or "hilux" I was trying to make it my daily driver to get to school and work instead of putting so many miles on the mustang.

my coworker has a Hilux.. those things are champs! hes been dogging it daily for years, has close to 300k miles, still running helaa strong.. Since an older man owns it must be very well maintained.. seems clean as hell! I would go for it..

the asking price for it is 2500$ it seems like a good deal for it but I jut don't know if the miles are actually 83k miles

Get a carfax, that should tell you smog checks, registrations and mileage when the smog was done. Looking at that engine, looks like only 85k miles. Pretty clean in there.

Best body style toyota ever made... nice find. If it's not 83k it's probably 183k which is still low miles for the most part.

Carfax only works with car with 17 digit vin tags an I believe they only go make to 1981.

I would pick it up if I was looking for one. Good old trucks. Bullet proof engines as they use to call them.

I picked it up yesterday for a lot cheaper then 2500$ and it came with all it's records and original owners manual so not a bad buy. I gotta get used to no power steering though lol but thanks for your guys input I appreciate it

go get the power steering setup from a 22re at pick n pull and make it happen
