If left on too long, it may imbed itself into the clear coat. Dura/Plasti Dip contains a chemical, Xylene. A solvent that prevents the product from drying out while sealed in the can. <br />So then Clear coat + Dura/Plasti Dip + Xylene = damaged clear coat.
