Out of those two choices its a no brainer. Actually now that I think of it I would not even get a sport bike for commuting....probably something middle of the row like a sport tourer or something. From my (probably like 20 years of riding) experience and if I had to pick between the two for a street bike the ninja is a better choice (simply simply due to ergos and the larger motor). For a canyon burner or track bike the ducati is the hands down winner though.
