But on our hot summer days they chrome metal shift knob gets so hot I can barely touch it. My windows are tinted all around, I use a sun shade for the from window, and I even cover up the shifter so the sun can't possibly hit it. It still gets crazy hot!<br /><br />I really like the old school pool ball type shift knob, but I don't want to burn my hand. I know mine did. If this car came with just a blank panel in the area where the radio/Microsoft sync system is it wouldn't have bothered me at all. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Guess that's what you get with the base model, a reminder with hot hands you coulda got the upgrade model with a leather wrapped shifter. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">This car isn't a base model. <br /><br />It's a GT Premium with California Special Package. It also has the Shaker Sound System, Security Package & factory installed 3.73's, that's roughly $4k in crap(msrp) over base model. <br /><br />A leather wrapped shifter ball will cost anywhere from $20-100 depending on what I like & want to buy. Not a big enough deal to be mad, but enough that I would like to fix it. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">LOL, I thought the CA specials came with the screen though too. I know mine did. But the thought of the base models not having the 20 dollar shifter ball with the leather wrapped around it seems silly to me. </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'm not sure what shift ball mine is, but I'm sure someone considered it an upgrade over stock.
