I was around 15 hours from getting my Commercial/Instrument rating but stopped. I wanted to be a flight instructor until I realized I couldn't make enough money as an instructor to maintain the lifestyle I wanted.<br /><br />By far the hardest part is the Instrument Rating, at least it was for me. The Commercial rating training wasn't that bad. Mostly involved added precision flying and knowing the Commercial regulations. Instrument also involved precision flying but a lot of regulations that are needed for IFR navigation, approaches and departures, and airspace routing. <br /><br />Not sure what your final goal is but for me it wasn't worth all the money I was spending with no possibility of flying for a carrier.
