Last time I did a fence I used 4x4 pressure treated posts I used tens and stuck 3' of it in the ground using a 12" wide auger and I think they took about 3 bags each of post hole mix. I just mixed it in a wheel barrel post by post. I did a standard fence with a 2"x12" footer horizontal then 6' redwood fence boards on top vertical nothing fancy used a nice nail gun that shoots 16's and a small portable compressor. It's easy just string out your guide line for your posts get atleast a 4' level to plum em out. Don't be that guy who knocks out a water pipe flooding a few backyards. <br /><br />Def use pressure treated wood for your in ground posts and put a sealer on them boards.<br /><br /> If I decide or need to build a fence, I'm snapping a chalk line for my nail gun. If money is tight try chain length fencing. Cheap and very easy.<br /><br />My dad is a carpenter and i have constructed many fences for his rentals. Call it in.
