Anyone know how to convert a DVD movie from a disc to a video file? I want to upload my Engine Academy video to youtube.

I use DVD Decrypter. It's free and works great.

DVD Decrypter should have ripped it as an MPEG-II type file. Use a program called AnvSoft (again, free) and you can convert it into whatever file format you want. MP4 will work for most stuff, but the file is kind of big. If you're just going to upload it to youtube, I'd go with an AVI or WMV format. It'll shrink the size down without losing too much quality. i don't think it did anything. i couldn't play the file it created after doing it.

I asked the same question here because I wanted to put movies on my tablet and this is the method I use.
