I was looking to rent an Audi R8 for my wife's bday (her dream car) At 5k per day to rent, looks like it will remain a dream. Seems like an awesome business to own if people actually pay that per day. I was expecting more like a $800 per day rental fee.

Just go buy one then return it the next day and say, "I don't want it no more, I can get it from my friend for cheaper."

A company I worked for has used them with good feedback. The quote that is given on that link says it's $1395 peak rental and weekday prices are much cheaper. The 5k quote might have been with security deposit. I know the security deposits can be upwards of $5k. If you have an american express card they offer secondary exotic car insurance.

The funny thing is, Audi R8's are not even that expensive of a car.

If you knew the back story to that you'd be laughing as much as I did when I typed it.

Hertz rents them for $950 a day. Ferrari f40 spider is like $1200 if I remember right. lots of other cars also. Bad thing is you have to pick up at SFO or down in San Jose.

There are a couple at my work but they aren't for rent or borrow but you can buy one if you'd like. I've driven them before and honestly they aren't that fast. Supposedly my work is going to buy one so my brother and I can put a blower on it.

Thanks! Definitely not looking to buy though. Just wanted to rent one for a couple of hours at a reasonable rate. I'll think of something else to get her. They are cool cars.
